Panthers' Jonathan Stewart on the foot he injured in Super Bowl 50: 'I'm good'
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- If there are lingering issues with the foot injury Jonathan Stewart suffered in Super Bowl 50, the Carolina Panthers running back isn’t showing it.
“I’m good,’’ Stewart said on Friday from his football camp at Ardrey Kell High.
Stewart limped off the field in the first quarter of the 24-10 loss to the Broncos four months ago after being tackled around the ankle. Wholesale Carolina Panthers jerseys
He returned and finished with only 29 yards rushing on 12 carries. He scored Carolina’s lone touchdown on a 1-yard run in the second quarter.
Coach Ron Rivera told the Charlotte Observer on Tuesday that the Panthers are being cautious with Stewart, who rushed for 989 yards and six touchdowns in 13 games last season. Wholesale nfl jerseys
“That foot just kind of lingered after he got bent over backwards in the Super Bowl,’’ Rivera told the newspaper. “When he showed up [for OTAs] it was still sore a little bit. When he started to run he said he could still feel it a little bit.’’
Rivera said Stewart has been feeling “really good’’ lately and on Tuesday got a “good dose of it.’’ Cheap nfl jerseys
Stewart had surgery on both ankles in 2010 and had ankle surgery again prior to the 2013 season. He missed 17 regular-season games between 2012 and 2013 because of the injuries.
Stewart showed no signs of limping or pain while working with the kids at his camp.
“It’s all good,’’ he said. “No problems.’’http://www.carolinapanthersjerseyspop.com
